Death Save
While surviving death is possible in the Crucible, death isn't something that should be taken for granted. Resurrection isn't a guarantee and isn't without consequences.
rite of renewal
fate or ritual.
There are two ways for a someone to be resurrected: by will through the egregore or through a blood ritual. Depending on the path taken may result in different outcomes. Players can choose which resurrection path to take that suits their plotting needs.

facing judgement.
All those who die will have to face judgment in order to determine if they can return to the living. Those who have died will wake up in a place that looks similar to the Crucible in the company of the Judge — a figure who takes the appearance of someone close and familiar to the dead. The Judge will ask the newly dead three questions which they can respond however way please (answering the question direct, refusing to answer, or remaining unresponsive are all valid responses) and the Judge will determine if they should return to the Crucible.
Judgment will be handled summary style upon submitting the death save form. There are no right and wrong answers to the questions asked but the answers will determine the consequences of resurrection.
consequences
No one survives death unscathed. Those who come back will most likely return with the echo of death lingering within them: a curse or a blessing.
Players are able to submit their preferences of what kind they do and don't want, the pool of curses and blessings is largely left up to chance. The more subsequent resurrections a person has, the worse and more permanent the consequences more likely become.
thornbound curses.
Curses can be divided into these four main categories that scale across four tiers. The higher the tier, the more severe the curse.

briars blessings.
