discovery
This page is for setting related questions and submissions for things to flesh out the world building of the Crucible. Anything not firmly established on the setting page but could be something useful for common reference should go in here so that it can be referred to by everyone.
You don't need to vet every room/object/etc through this post so long as it makes sense to the setting. However, if you are unsure or want to establish something unique or would like context from the mod, please submit through the request form below.
Categories of Discovery
LocationsThis can be anything from a specific room within the Lonely Fortress, a building in the sunken village, or an isolated structure somewhere else in the Crucible. All structures within the setting reflect a pre-industrial lifestyle and architecture. Over time, some have been converted to fit a different purpose to fit the needs of the exiles using them. ObjectsAnything that would be native to the Crucible: plants, animals, supplies, weapons, etc. Keep in mind the availability of technology and materials limited to what is brought by exiles from more modern settings.
If you are looking for a specific item or something that would be considered a character token/trinkets, those sort of requests will only be available through night market events or redeeming favors submitted through bonus activity.KnowledgeA piece of the puzzle to broaden understanding. This covers: books, lore, hearsay, manners of instruction for development of practical and magical skill.

The infirmary is stocked with basic medicinal supplies for wounds, such as boiled linen bandages and common suturing materials (needle & thread). There does seem to be the lack of any official sort of 'surgery kit' available. Healers tending to larger wounds may rely on small knives for surgeries and garden tools for amputations.
When available, wound dressings can be soaked in wine or honey if it is available in the food pantry. Additionally, Mathilde's apothecary has whispermoss to slow the bleeding of open wounds and prevent infection.
Mathilde's apothecary also offers a small arrangement of medicines to relieve pain. Her offerings range from topical ointments made from other herbs like thornsap or arnica.
For more severe pain, she may offer distillate of valerian, which performs like morphine when ingested. Lotus or Feverweed tea may also be offered to help relieve more mild pain.
For injuries that need immediate healing, broken bones, or anything else that requires a significant time to heal, Mathilde may offer a coveted nibble of Sacred Nostrum: a flesh tasting bolus that is capable of speeding the healing processes up exponentially.
When taken, any open wounds or broken bones will stitch back together, however, the healing process is not immediate and will take longer depending on the severity of the damage. The process of feeling an injury stitch itself back together is incredibly painful. Multiple doses over the course of several days may need to be taken in order to heal larger injuries, but this is largely dependent on a person's pain tolerance.
Fully healed wounds may still show traces of a scar. The nostrum will not regrow missing limbs, cure diseases, or remove already healed scars.
